Bertolucci Watches

Bertolucci is derived from a beautiful love story...
Remo Bertolucci is a handsome young Italian raised in Maritime Tuscany. Living surrounded by the Mediterranean seashore, it inspired his imagination throughout his life. For Remo it was love at first sight when he met a beautiful young Swiss woman. In 1965 Remo followed her to Switzerland where he joined the family watch-manufacturing business. Established in 1911, the company was already a renowned manufacturer of mechanical watches and located in Bienne, Switzerland.
As a young entrepreneur and already a skilled micro-mechanical engineer, Remo soon discovered a great passion for watches and the entire industry surrounding them. During these years Remo gained invaluable experience and becomes part of the private label business in 1973 out-sourcing other brands and learning all aspects of the watch developing proccesses.
With Remo’s Swiss watch making skills coupled with his Italian bespoke sense of style he decides in 1987 to launch his very own brand; which is when Bertolucci Watches was first born and introduced.
Bertolucci Watches fast became an ‘overnight’ success, and immediately known as a brand of the most high-end luxury watches.
Remo’s designs are inspired from his childhood, pebbled beaches being the first to help him create his very first designs known as the Pulchra collection. Using organic pebbly shapes to create a beautiful bracelet design, this was Remo’s stepping-stone in making Bertolucci Watches the success it’s still known as today.
During the height of Remo’s success tragedy struck in 1999 when he suffered a terrible cycle accident, which led to the sale of the company.
The Dixon Group then took over Bertolucci Watches in 2005. Already established in the market of luxury watches they managed to breathe new life into the Bertolucci brand and reaffirm their dominant position within the industry.
Personally I find Bertolucci Watches among the most beautiful designs I have ever seen. The bespoke designs and exceptional creativity are what really make this brand stand out amongst all luxury watch brands. For men the watches look simple yet you would know from a single glance that the workmanship and brand are of high expense and class. I once bought a Bertolucci watch for my Father and after all these years he still receives comments and compliments on what a stunning peice it is.
Although expensive you will never find a better gift for your wife, girlfriend or daughter. The watches are unique and some designs are set with precious stones such as diamonds (always a girl’s best friend) as well as emeralds, sapphires and rubys. The almost bracelet designs for ladies make them look like a stunning peice of jewellrey rather than your day to day ordinary watch. Always a talking point as wearing Bertolucci Watches would get you noticed in a flash.
The diamonds and the contemporary watches are by far my favourites with their slimline designs making them look so elegant and easy to dress up, or down. I would wear mine during the daytime even to take the children to school but also if you are attending a function or a high society event the Bertolucci Watch looks in keeping with any designer dress for a beautiful night out. The only time I take mine off is to do the washing up at home and to take a shower.
I really do adore the more beautiful designs but this brings me on to the more ‘retro’ Bertolucci Watches range. This is by far not my favourite collection and I see them as looking rather cheap and not at all in the league of the elegant slimline designs. I would say this collection is suited to a teenage girl but I find them encumbersome and bulky and rather unattractive. This is not helped by the fact that they are produced in more retro colours such as fusia pink or known as ‘hot pink’ or a bright tangerine orange colour. These I find would not suit all clothing, and would really be out of place at a more up market event. I if puchasing a watch for a teenager would chose a design that would be timeless if you excuse the pun and would last into a girl’s twenties and entire adult life.
You will find that the Bertolucci Watches collection’s website incredibly easy to perouse and extremely informative. They have sectioned off the men’s and the women’s designs and have beautiful descriptions about each design. There are no prices listed on the website which dipicts the high-end luxury of the brand itself. You can send for information via an online request on their website which I found was extremely good in the time frame of them getting in contact with you.
I would advise that you don’t purchase a watch of the Bertolucci collection from an unknown internet source for the fear of purchasing a counterfeit without a certificate of authenticity. This will then make insurance matters much easier when you come to protect your watch.
